The 009 Layout 'Gwynedd'
This is a layout which was donated to the club and was finished to a high standard. The scratch built Welsh buildings are particularly fine. It featured in Railway Modeller in the 1970s.
Unfortunately the layout is showing its age with non-standard track, faded scenery, erratic electrics and even more erratic running. More seriously the baseboards are of chipboard and planed timber and have deteriorated greatly.
It is however a nicely finished layout so plans have been made to rescue it.
***NEWS UPDATE***
Paul and some of the other members have made a start on getting the layout operational again. Work so far includes fitting new ends to each of the boards, repairing electrics, and repairing track.More pictures will be posted as work progresses but why not come along and lend a hand?
